About Us
While most children spent their allowance on candy and toys, we were buying lipstick and hair color. We are two sisters (Jacey Miner and Cricket Miner) with a passion for everything beauty. And that passion has lead to successful cosmetology careers behind the chair, in advanced education and freelance specialties.
Professionally licensed in Kansas since 2001, and successfully completing apprenticeships soon after, we have worked together in salons throughout the state. We've traveled extensively across the country to train with many of the beauty industry’s top artists in hair and cosmetics. This education includes editorial, photography and film techniques taught by many celebrity stylists, leading industry pros and professional makeup artists.
Over the span of our long careers, we have trained nationally for many top brands and salon chains, including Sebastian International, Procter & Gamble Professional Beauty, etc. Our resumes include work on commercial/film sets and international calendar shoots, Celebrity styling, NFL Cheerleading Squads and even consultation for a Miss Universe contestant!
Now we are proud to add business owners to our c.v.'s! Our boutique salon, Uppity by the Miner Sisters has been successfully running in Overland Park, Kansas for 10+ years. And with the opening of Uppity Sisters Online in 2023, we can now extend our support to our amazing clients at the click of a button. We love our adopted home of Kansas City, the wonderful people who live there and the excitement of seeing what the future holds!
